SEN Information
At Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Primary School, we aim to provide a broad, balanced and enriching curriculum for all our children. We believe that whole class, quality teaching approach is the best to secure strong progress. All our teachers are skilled in adapting lessons to ensure that they meet the varied needs of all children.
However, there are some children who have barriers to learning which means they have special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) that require particular attention by the school. There are various procedures in place to identify any children with SEND and our systems to support these children fully involve parents.
We aim to ensure that every child with SEND is identified and provided for as early as possible. We will support each child in achieving their full potential, developing independence and positive learning behaviours. We closely monitor the progress of all our children which enables us to provide adaptive teaching, a personalised curriculum and/or additional support , where needed. This may be different from that provided for other children of the same age.
If you have any concerns about your child please see their class teacher, in the first instance.
Our SENDco is Mrs Theresa Gee. See oversees all of the SEND provision in the school and the strategic development of Special Educational Needs.
Mrs Wendy Gay is the Assistant SENDco and supports Mrs Gee with the social, emotional and mental provision in the school. She is also our school Family Link Leader, supporting parents with issues that arise at home with their child that might affect them in school.
Our SEND Governor is Mrs Yvonne Morgan. Mrs Morgan can be contacted through the school office.
