Term 3

Writing

This term we are using four main texts to inspire our writing in 'Drawing Club'. The texts are:

The Tiger who came to Tea

The Gruffalo's Child

The Smeds & The Smoos

Cops & Robbers

The children LOVE drawing club and they are starting to write words and phrases using their growing phonic knowledge.

Maths

We are continuing to develop our understanding of numbers to 10. This term we are particlary focusing on ordering numbers, subitising, recognising and writing numerals to 10. We are also focusing on shape, length & height.

Reading

The children are progressing on from single letter sounds in phonics and starting to learn digraphs "special friends". 

The children are continuing to discuss their thoughts and feelings when listening to stories in our daily class storytime. We have been focusing on identifying characters and settings this term.
