Year 5- Kilve Court Residential

Hello everyone!

We’ve just returned from an incredible few days at Kilve Court, and we can’t wait to share our adventures with you! From thrilling activities to fossil hunting on the beach, it was an unforgettable experience.

Climbing and Abseiling
One challenge was the climbing wall. Some of us raced to the top, while others took their time, conquering their nerves one step at a time. Mrs Parinello said, “It was amazing to see so many children push themselves.” Later, we tried abseiling, where we had to trust the rope (and ourselves!) to make it safely down. It was scary at first, but we all tried our hardest!

Archery
Archery required patience and precision, as we learned to aim carefully and improve our shots. Mr Hamlen was really impressed, saying, “You could really see their confidence grow.” Mrs Searle became very competitive at this stage!

Grass Sledging
One of the most exciting activities was grass sledging. We zoomed down the hills at high speed—it was fast, bumpy, and so much fun! We couldn’t stop laughing as we raced down the hill. However, we then had to pull the sledge back up the hill. This was extemely tiring!

Fossil Hunting
Exploring the beach was a fascinating experience. With patience and sharp eyes, we found ammonites and other prehistoric treasures hidden among the rocks. It was amazing to think about how old they were! Some amazing discoveries were made.

Night Walk
One of the highlights of our trip was the night walk. Armed with torches and lots of excitement, we ventured into the dark, listening carefully to the sounds of nature all around us. The sky was filled with stars, and it was a peaceful yet thrilling experience.

By the end of the trip, we were all tired but so proud of what we had achieved. We made new friends, challenged ourselves, and created memories we’ll never forget.

Kilve Court, we’ll be back!
